Manager Jon Hudson will be back next season and he is already looking forward to the new season.
Despite a mixed season the manager is determined to continue the positive work that has been done in his first season in charge.
“I knew this season was going to be a challenge, we took over a poor squad with a huge lack of quality and we knew that it would take time to build a new team.
We managed to get good people in but a mixture of injuries, availability and form meant we never really got ourselves in the right place.
We let ourselves down at times and we have had to learn a lot of lessons but it’s been for me a very enjoyable season. After two years out of management I always knew I wanted to return to the hot seat and as soon as I’d met Dave Wood and the committee at Mersey Valley I knew this was the place for me.
I worked with some brilliant people at Cheadle Heath Nomads, coaches and officials and I have taken so much from them and loved my time there. I now feel I am in the place where I can really make a difference.
We’ve already started the process of strengthening the squad next season – so keep your eyes out for some big summer signings!!
