A commanding and experienced centre-back, Pete Greenwood has established himself as one of the key figures in the Mersey Valley squad.

Pete joined the club in 2023 after taking a break from football.

A strong, composed defender who leads through his performances, Pete brings organisation, physicality and consistency to the back line. Comfortable defending aggressively but equally capable of playing out from the back, his qualities fit perfectly with the way Mersey Valley want to play.

At the start of the 2026/27 season, Pete had made 77 appearances for the club, starting 71 of them and playing more than 6,400 minutes in a Mersey Valley shirt. He had also contributed at the other end of the pitch with 6 goals and 7 assists, while being named Star Man 10 times.

His experience and reliability make him an important part of the First Team as the club looks to compete at the top end of the Cheshire Football League.
