Player Bio

A commanding and reliable goalkeeper, Alex Gorst has established himself as Mersey Valley’s first-choice number one.

Alex joined the club ahead of the 2025/26 season and quickly became an important part of the side, bringing a calm presence and consistency to the position.

A confident goalkeeper who communicates well with the players in front of him, Alex is comfortable taking responsibility in possession and starting attacks from the back. His distribution and composure fit naturally with the way Mersey Valley want their goalkeeper to operate, while his organisation and presence provide leadership to the defensive unit.

At the start of the 2026/27 season, Alex had made 24 appearances for the club, including 23 starts, playing 2,085 minutes in a Mersey Valley shirt.

Now firmly established as the club’s number one, Alex continues to be a key part of the squad as Mersey Valley look to build throughout the 2026/27 campaign.
