A talented and influential midfielder, Owen Adams has become an important part of the Mersey Valley First Team and a consistent contributor in the middle of the pitch.

Owen joined the club in 2023, following manager Jon Hudson from Cheadle Heath Nomads. Originally a central defender, Owen played at the heart of the defence during his time with both Abbey Hey U21s and Cheadle Heath Nomads, before making the transition into midfield after joining Mersey Valley.

That defensive background, combined with his technical ability, has helped develop Owen into an intelligent and well-rounded midfielder. He offers quality in possession, can carry the ball through midfield and has developed into a major threat in the final third, regularly contributing both goals and assists.

At the start of the 2026/27 season, Owen had made 72 appearances for Mersey Valley, starting 71 of them and playing almost 6,000 minutes. He had scored an impressive 32 goals, provided 16 assists and been named Star Man 10 times.

With 48 direct goal contributions in 72 appearances, Owen’s numbers underline just how successful that transition from defence to midfield has been and the influence he has had since arriving at the club.
